Typical Applications
Onboard Oxygen Cylinders
Haskel oxygen booster systems are used extensively by airlines world-wide
for filling onboard oxygen cylinders. This provides airline operations
with an efficient, safe and economical system for oxygen requirements.
Escape Chute & Life Raft Charging
Another important application for the Haskel Gas Booster is the filling
and charging of carbon dioxide cylinders used for the inflation of escape
chutes and life rafts. Haskel boosters are specified by leading manufacturers
of these life saving devices and are utilised by most major airlines.
Aircraft Jacking
Haskel supplies most major aircraft jack manufacturers with air driven
liquid pumps for safe, reliable lifting. Pumps of various sizes are employed
dependent on jack tonnage and jacks currently using hand or electric pumps
can be easily retrofitted.
Reliability and Safety Testing
DOT and FAA regulations require periodic inspection and testing of all
gas cylinder and pressure vessels. These include oxygen, nitrogen, carbon
dioxide and halon bottles to name a few. Haskel manufactures a wide range
of approved hydrostatic and cylinder stretch test rigs for this purpose.
Air Conditioning and Fire Prevention
In compliance with the Montreal Protocol, all CFC's which include freon
and other halocarbons, have to be recovered and not vented or leaked into
the atmosphere Haskel CFC Recovery Systems are ideal solutions to this
application.
Similarly, Haskel pumps rapidly and precisely fill Halon 1211 (BCF) extinguishers,
Halon 1301 (BTM) extinguishers and liquid Carbon Dioxide extinguishers,
used extensively by airport fire and rescue services.
The Haskel pump which transfers and pressurises the halon is designed
to automatically stop when the required weight (pressure) is achieved.
Where Nitrogen is used as a propellant, the Haskel pump has the ability
to pump Halon into the extinguisher against the pressure of the Nitrogen
-resulting in instant mixing. The Haskel pump has the ability to extract
the high-cost Halon vapour from the supplier's container and convert the
vapour back to liquid by passing through a condenser.
Helicopter / Popfloats
Designed for operators of helicopters and/or small aircraft where a portable
self-powered booster is needed for around support. The primary application
is to service the high pressure on-board nitrogen or helium bottles on
helicopters equipped with emergency inflatable "pop type floats".
Also used to service other components needing high pressure nitrogen such
as shock struts and precharging hydraulic accumulators.
Aircraft Hydraulic Circuit Testing
For many years Haskel has specialised in manufacturing, a wide range
of hydraulic test benches for maintaining aircraft hydraulic circuit integrity.These
test systems perform both hydraulic and pneumatic functions and are designed
for Skydrol and other widely used aircraft fluids.
Liquid Pumps
Liquid Pumps for use on airframe alignment jigs; raising and lowering
of engine cowlings; crimping and riveting; and operating ramps.
Air Amplifiers
Air Amplifiers for use in boosting air pressure for the operation of
pneumatic tools, calibration and testing
